Exploration Station is an educational app created by Clayton’s Exploration Station to help kids, families, and classrooms explore hands-on science in a fun and safe way. We take privacy seriously, especially when it comes to children.
Information We Collect
Exploration Station does not require user accounts and does not collect personal information. We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, birthdays, photos, contact information, or precise location data.
The app stores progress such as points, badges, and Scientific Method notes locally on your device only. This information is used solely to support the app experience and is never transmitted to us or stored on external servers.
If you choose to open external links from within the app—such as YouTube videos or printable worksheets—those services may collect data according to their own privacy policies. Exploration Station does not control or receive data from those third-party services.
How We Use Information
Any locally stored data is used only to display progress within the app, including earned points, badges, and saved notes. External links are opened only when a user chooses to do so.
We do not collect analytics, track users, or monitor activity.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
Exploration Station is designed for families, classrooms, and young learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The app does not include user accounts, social features, chat, user-generated content uploads, or behavioral advertising. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will assist promptly.
Third-Party Services
Exploration Station may link to third-party services for educational content, such as:

YouTube – When you open a video, YouTube’s app or website applies its own privacy policy and terms.
If analytics, advertising, or additional third-party services are added in the future, we will clearly disclose them, ensure they are appropriate for children, and provide transparency and controls where possible. We will not enable behavioral tracking.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties.
Data Security
All app data is stored locally using your device’s standard app storage mechanisms. Removing the app from your device will delete all locally stored progress data.
